I’m andrea johnson, owner of aj designs.

From a young age, I have been captivated by the creation and beauty of design. I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2003 and decided to make Knoxville my home. I married my college sweetheart and spent the first part of my career in pharmaceutical sales. After having a family and raising my young children, I began to feel a strong pull towards design in the professional field. Through helping several friends and family members with both new home design and remodeling projects, I decided to make it a career and get my official certification in Interior Design.

I currently reside in West Knoxville with my husband, Dusty, our three children, and our black lab. We are active members of Fellowship Church. When not designing, I enjoy exercising, the outdoors, shopping, reading, and watching my kids play sports.

My process

I believe that successful interior design is about bringing a client’s vision to life. Whether its creating a cozy living room or a functional kitchen, I take the time to understand preferences, lifestyle, and budget to ensure the final design reflects the client’s personality and meets their needs. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to help others turn their ideas and dreams into inviting, elegant, and beautiful living spaces.

Consultation

I like to start with a phone conversation and then an in-person meeting at the home to discuss client’s vision and ideas. I take the time to understand preferences and design style.

analysis

After meeting, I will prepare a scope of work detailing all the details of the project to fit in with client’s needs. Followed by necessary design boards to align with client’s vision.

implementation

This is where the vision becomes a reality. Selections will be made and I will be communicating with the necessary trades and walking you through the entire process from start to finish. Involving clients in decision-making processes to ensure their vision is realized within time and budget constraints. Prioritizing the needs and preferences of clients is my top priority.
